SIX!!!

AGHHHH-
Where or where did time go?
Six years... I cannot believe it.
Our little Hizzy is six today.

So... where do we start?

My sweet Hadley- you have changed so much this year...

You are READING.  You started kindergarten pre-reading and now you're reading paragraphs in Junie B Jones with me.  It's been so much fun for me to watch your reading grow and flourish - you understand what you read, you want to read and are super proud of yourself each and every day.  That makes my heart smile.

School in general is your THING.  You are a fantastic listener, a leader and a BIG helper in your class.   Your teacher gave you the best compliment last week... she told me how she stopped you on the way to the bus and hugged you tight and told you how proud she was of you and how much she loved you for being so KIND.  But the best part is- she said you don't have to WORK at being kind- you are ARE kind.  I literally had a tear in my eye... it's so so so important to me that you're kind to others and to hear that you ARE kind to your classmates makes me super proud.

You love being active and have enjoyed playing basketball, soccer and lacrosse and have been taking a dance class as well.  Not sure you'll continue the dance thing (hint hint) but you enjoy it.  You've also taken a science class and an art class after school once a week this year.  So fun!

This summer you'll be hanging lots at the lacrosse and baseball field but also enjoying plenty of time in the pool and have a few camps to look forward to.

A few more fun things about you- as you turn six today!

You can TIE your shoes... woohoo.  A girl in your class taught you!  HA.

You are super in to Legos and insist on doing them yourself- although the BIG boxes you need some supervision on.

You love to play with art supplies and write notes, letters and little stories.   Your dad and I have lots and lots of sweet little notes from you and we sure do cherish them.

You've developed some sweet friendships in kindergarten - it's sweet to see you enjoy time with your friends - and I hope to do more of it as Jack and Ri's schedule slows down.

We sure do enjoy you my sweet girl... here's some old pics!

My sweet almost six year old!!!

We celebrated Hadley BIG TIME this weekend....
She had a birthday party at a great cooking studio with her little friends and Sunday night we went to Chipotle (her choice) for dinner and opened presents and had an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen... yum!

Of course we had to scoot to Ri's lax games right after her party!  But she brought some birthday gifts to play with.

We had the school rock painted too!  So so cute.

And wouldn't you know- tomorrow is Unicorn Day- according to Harris Teeter!  HA- must be fate- for our unicorn obsessed girl.

We love you Hadley- so so so much.

Happy birthday beautiful girl.
