Digging Deep

Jack usually gets to pitch a few innings a weekend.  He normally comes in as relief, pitches a couple of innings and he's done.

But one of our starters was out this weekend so Jack got to start. 

He did AMAZING!   

Six innings pitched.

Five strike outs.

One walk.

Sixty-nine pitches thrown.

We won the game 6-5 - and won the tournament. 

Super proud of him.

When Jack went back on the mound at the bottom of the 6th (they only play 6 innings at this age) - you could tell there was a lot of pressure.  We were only up by one run and this team was itching to win the tournament.  

Jack approached the mound- threw a few warm up pitches and exhaled deeply.  

Todd got his attention and told him, Dig Deep.

Well- he did.

I am so thankful I was there to see it!
