Summer of Pools and Baseballs

It really is a summer of pools and baseballs.

During the weekdays we pool hop w/ various friends.

A couple of nights a week and every Saturday and Sunday we watch Jack practice and play in games.

Two of my favorite things: the pool and baseball.

Works for me.

Riley has a few girls to pal around with, plus a fan that squirts water to keep her busy, (oh- and a concession stand that sells lots of sugary treats), so she's happy.

Momma has made new friends through baseball and gets lots of camera practice, so I'm happy.

Jack's surrounded by really good baseball players and several great coaches, is learning A LOT, has made lots of new buddies and finally gets an All-Star helmet, so he's happy.

Dad's watching his son play the same sport he grew up playing, so he's happy.

Don't get me wrong- it's definitely tough not to be jumping in the car right now headed to the beach, but it's all worth it. I'd sacrifice a hell of a lot more than beach trips to watch Jack be so happy and in his element.
