Miss Priss has taken to biting. Her brother.
Last fall she bit at preschool- just once. Nothing too crazy. She didn't even break skin. Minor bite.
But lately she's been biting Jack. Sometimes provoked. Sometimes unprovoked. I can tell you that I am about sick of it.
The kids were playing on the bed this afternoon w/ Todd and she leaned over and latched onto Jack's forearm and would not let go. This one was unprovoked. So- guess what I did?
Bit her back. Right on the arm.
Lordy! Did she ever scream. A minute later you could not even see where I bit her so it wasn't too bad. Do you think my tactic worked? Nope- a few minutes later she bit Todd. So- he bit her back.
Needless to say I am not sure if that's the right thing to do but time outs, discussing it w/ her and downright yelling at her don't work so it was my last resort.
Let's hope she gets out of this stage before preschool starts in 4 weeks.
Until next time...

Oh my...33 years ago I was confronted with the same problem.
You were a biter and I didn't know what to do. One Wednesday morning we were at playgroup and you bit Andrea and I was mortified. I bit you back and a dead silence fell over the entire playgroup. I was so embarassed but dear daughter, you never bit again. But, our Riley is not you. Good luck with our feisty independent Riley.
