My week of freedom is over. Today is the last day of summer camp at their preschool. Back to reality!
This week has been really nice: errands, house projects, laundry, organizing, etc... all by myself has been wonderful.
But to tell you the truth, when our kids are both in school every day I have to find something to do to pass the time.
I plan on doing some substitute teaching and volunteering. I've been surfing the Internet for some great organizations where I can volunteer. I've been feeling like I need to contribute more to society- if you know what I mean.
As a teacher that feeling was fulfilled on a daily basis (almost). But, since kids have come along that's the one thing that has been missing from my life. I went Walmart today and bought tons of school supplies and took them to our local elementary school and it felt great- to physically go out and do something. Just writing a check to an organization isn't enough... I want to actually do something.
The problem? Time. Riley only goes Mon/Wed from 9-1 this year and by the time I run my errands, grocery shop w/o the rugrats and take care of my appointments I really don't have much time. I know- I could make the time if really wanted to and maybe I will.
Aaahhhh- enough of my tangent. I'll figure it out.
Until next time...
