Alphabet Soup

I stole this idea off another blog that I read so I can't claim it as my own.

Here's my version of alphabet soup.
  • A is for always.... always saying 'talk it' when I'm on the phone. RiRi loves to talk on the phone and as soon as it rings she instantly begins saying, "Talk it. Talk it." I have no idea where that came from.

  • B is for boogers....my kids like to pick their boogers. I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I obsessively had my own fingers up their noses when they were little. I have this thing about seeing a kid w/ boogers- gross.

  • C is for conversation....Jack's conversations with me range from silly (What stinks mommy?) to deep (I don't ever want to see Heaven mommy).

  • D is for Dee.... this letter could stand for nothing else but Jack's I-will-take-with-me-to- college Dee. (For those of you who aren't priviledged to know Dee, he is Jack's ratty stuffed Golden Retriever he's been sleeping w/ since he was old enough to have a lovey).

  • E is for Ethan (three of them), Emelia, Emma, Evelyn, Erin, Eleanor and Ellery- friends and family that start with an "E."

  • F is for forgiveness.... I've learned the power of forgiveness. It must come quickly when I fuss at the kids for fighting or coloring on the wall or whining or taking a diaper off when it's full of poop or hitting or spitting milk on the floor or.....
  • G is for giraffe....Riley's lovey- she has two of them.

  • H is for hugs.... Riley is a big hugger. When you leave her room at night she asks for a hug- recently she's been asking for a 'biiigggg hug."

  • I is for ice cream...our kids definitely got a sweet tooth from their daddy. RiRi loves her " i-cream."

  • J is for Jack... my first born child and only son. My sensitive, loving, kind, sometimes-has-an-attitude son. My son who used to eat veggies but no longer. My son who loves baseball and golf- thank goodness b/c he will not be a basketball or football player.

  • K is for kindergarten... which we are waiting another year for. Although Jack said to me the other day- "Mommy- am I big enough to go to kindergarten?"

  • L is for love.... enough said.

  • M is for mistakes.... as a parent we live and learn from them and hope that our kids turn out all right.

  • N is for naps... one kid napped until 3 1/4 years of age- the other napped until right at age 2 . Can you guess?

  • O is for outside... our kids could live outside- park, pool, trampoline, play cars, bikes, scooters, push toys, chalk, paint, sprinklers, swings. You name it- they love it.

  • P is for Puma... I just love Puma sneakers for kids. Just got Riley her third pair. Gotta find some new ones for Jack for school.

  • Q is for quiet... that went out the window a few weeks ago, along with naps.

  • R is for Riley... my second born and only daughter. My daughter who loves life, is spunky, independent, strong-willed and will always love her brother. My daughter who dips everything into ketchup and drinks more milk then any toddler I know.

  • S is for secrets... Jack has been into telling us 'secrets' lately. So you know what that means? Riley has been too. It's so funny to have her come up to me and say, "Secet..." and then whisper nonsense into my ear. Gotta love it.

  • T is for Todd... my hubby and our children's Daddy. We love him and are thankful he works his buns off to provide for us. He's the best.

  • U is for unbelievable... I find it UNBELIEVABLE that Todd and I produced two children who bang their heads to sooth themselves at night.

  • V is for vines... grapes grow on them (kids love them) and in turn, wine comes from then (mommy loves it).

  • W is for whining... I hear a lot of it. Hate it. Can't stand it. Ignore it the best I can.

  • X is for eXercise... try to get the kids and myself as much as possible.

  • Y is for yawn... what I do most nights starting at 8:00 p.m., if not earlier.

  • Z if for zoo... what I feel like we live in some of the time...

Until next time...
