I pack the kids lunch each Monday and Wednesday. On Fridays, when just Jack goes to school, they get out at noon so we usually do Chic-Fi-La on that day.
I always pack things I know they like and will eat at home so it comes as a surprise to me when Riley comes home w/ most of her food. Her teacher (who rocks by the way!) puts her uneaten food back in the container so I know how much she has eaten. Sometimes I wonder how she takes a nap w/o being so hungry on school days b/c she has eaten so little lunch.
Her teacher figured out what was going on.
The kids (all 6 of those young one-year-olds) sit in a kidney shaped table w/ little seats in it while Mrs. Linz sits in the middle playing referee, chef, mom, teacher and whatever else she does during snack and lunch time. God bless her. Seems that our little Miss Priss wanted to get out of her seat during lunch time and wonder around the room. Rather than listen to her scream (which she probably did to get out of her seat) Mrs. Linz let her get down.
Come to find out she was crawling under the table scavenging for dropsies like a dog, meanwhile, eating barely nothing of her own food. We all know Riley is a smart one, but her teacher figured her out. On Monday she made sure there was no food on the floor and when Riley wanted down she let her down, only to realize there was nothing to scavenge. She promptly wanted back in her seat and ate every last morsel of her own food.
Yes- that's our little Riley Monroe.
Until next time...
