I am not sure why we picked the hottest weekend of the year so far (mid 90's) to do yard work, but we did. Our backyard has been in desperate need of some attention, and it finally got it. We had some stonework done around the patio and it looks great (pics to come later). Todd found out about a nursery that contractors use and we trekked out there Friday afternoon and bought some much needed shrubs for the backyard.
For a grand total of $132.00 we purchased 6 Azaleas, 3 Camellias and 12 Daylillies. Super cheap. That was probably the best $100 plus that we have ever spent. The backyard looks tons better now, barely recognizable. I actually enjoy hanging out back now.
We've been hitting the pools this past week too, from the nearby YMCA to our neighbors to a friend's neighborhood pool. My neighbor actually said Jack was brave in the water. I almost got on my hands and knees and begged her to repeat herself because Jack=brave is not an equation that works. Needless to say, that was really nice of her to say that.
After our weekend blitz in the yard Todd is sore all over and Jack has Poison Ivy on his face, battle wounds I guess. I'll post some pics soon.
Until next time...
