First- my jaw has been dropped to the floor since hearing about the shootings at Virginia Tech! Ugh- what kind of person would do such a thing. I hope those families will be o.k.
On a lighter note- I made it home safe and sound after a jam-packed weekend in D.C. We had a great time sight seeing, hanging out and catching up. On Friday we walked to the National Mall and headed towards the Washington Monument. We spent some time at the World War II Memorial before heading over to the Lincoln, Jefferson, Korean, FDR, Vietnam and nurses Memorials. Whew- I felt quite patriotic I must say, but also my feet killed me. My archless feet definitely were screaming by late afternoon. Luckily for us, Kelley was dubbed "paparazzi" and took loads of pics the entire weekend so we'll have them in photo journals soon. We went to a delicious Asian dinner Friday night and then spent most of Saturday at the Eastern Market where many of us bought a few items to bring home. We topped off the night w/ yummy margaritas and Jen's delicious Mexican dinner.
Todd and the kids picked me up at the airport Sunday w/ flowers in hand. (I am assuming this is b/c Todd realizes that it's NOT a piece of cake to stay home w/ two kids!- Not that he didn't already know that, but now he knows first hand!!) I arrived home to a house that was CLEAN, neat and organized, even the playroom. WHEE HEEEEE!!! Todd knows me well. We ate take-out for dinner and I crashed like a baby before 8:00. After almost 10 hours of sleep (once interrupted by Jack for some reason) I made it to aerobics at 5:45 a.m. and started all over again.
Now if the wind would just die down we could enjoy the outdoors again and replant some flowers that died in the below freezing weather last week.
Until next time...
