Snow days

The first time Jack played in the snow was two Christmas' ago in Connecticut. He was a whopping 15 months old and clearly doesn't remember it. All he did was waddle around in his big jacket and silly boots that were too big. He did look cute though.

The winter before we moved to Charlotte this city was hit with a snow storm that dumped about a foot of snow in the area. We never, ever got snow like that while living in South Carolina. Although I NEVER, ever want to live where it's cold enough to see snow on a regular basis, I secretly hope for one, just one, nice snowfall every winter for Jack, and eventually Riley, to frolic around in. I semi-got my wish yesterday.

We woke with about an inch or so of snow on the ground and another inch or so accumulated before we made it outside. Luckily for us, Todd didn't go in to work (which in hindsight he should have) so we were able to both head outdoors and play with Jack and Kody while Riley took her morning nap. I, of course, was armed with my camera since this never happens around here so enjoy a few pics of our first snowfall in this house.

Maybe we'll be hit with a "big one" before winter is over. Until next time....

Jack gets pushed around by daddy in a Crisco'ed laundry basket. It lasted long enough for me to take this picture, Jack hated it.

Daddy built Jack his very own Frosty. Too bad he fell over within hours, once the freezing rain started.

Not really sure what we were thinking b/c I pushed this jeep out into the snow. The wheels just kept spinning. Guess it's not a 4x4.

Of course Jack got his trucks out. He proceeded to push this all over the front yard making little piles.

Here's our house with it's first snowfall (since we've been here).

This was Jack late afternoon. Guess he was tuckered out huh?

ALi - what great photos. And your house - it's gorgeous! I wonder why it is we feel the need to take photos of our homes in snow...I guess there is something so mysterious about this that we try to hang on to.
