Riley popped her first tooth yesterday, Super Bowl Sunday. We've been waiting for it's arrival for quite some time. She's been "teething" forever, it seems. I could tell it was about to pop because for the last few days if she didn't have a toy in her mouth to chew on she would stuff her fingers in her mouth and munch on them right on the spot where she got her first tooth.
I have this thing about putting fingers into babies' mouths; I find it gross, but I did it on Friday. I noticed her tooth underneath her gums and was anticipating a rough night or two while it tried to come hither. But, she was a trooper and actually has slept better the last three nights than the last two months. I figured she'd be like her brother and we'd have to turn her into an infant Motrin addict while she teethed, but she's been ok.
Jack gets a kick out of this whole teething thing. He's amazed that she can eat club crackers without teeth. I try to tell him that he did the same thing as a baby, but that doesn't get us very far.
Maybe we'll get some more teeth soon.
Until next time...
