My goal is to write two blogs per week so I should save this until later in the week, but I can't. It's too cute.
I must brag on my son.
Jack learned all of his shapes by doing play-doh over 1 1/2 years ago. He is now drawing some of them, it's super cute. Since he knows all of his basic shapes I sometimes throw in weird shapes, like pentagon, trapezoid, etc. when we're coloring and drawing together. (I know, it's the teacher in me). We haven't talked about those "weird" shapes in quite some time, months, at least, so you'd think he would have forgotten them. No, not Jack.
Jack lined up a few of his cars on the kitchen table earlier this evening. He stopped to eat dinner and write his Paa Paa a "letter," if you will. He just hopped back up to the table and said,
Jack: Mom, guess what I made? (Pointing to his cars that he had made into a shape about an hour earlier).
Me: What honey?
Jack: I made a trapezoid.
Me: (Internally to myself- WHAT? I couldn't believe it).
So we gave each other a "high-ten" and double fists and I walked off giggling to myself, amazed at what his brain retains.
Enough of my soapbox.
Until next time...
