Elbows, Snapchat and More

Riley and I were messing around on my Snapchat app the other night.....

The app is actually quite fun to use and we giggled a lot making fun of ourselves.  Of course Riley would love to have Snapchat but I can't see her messages (they disappear) so it's a no go for now.  Sorry my dear.  Maybe when you're older.

I did let her get Instagram a few months back and she's handled it like a rock star.  She barely posts (my fear was she'd try be an obnoxious poster looking for attention- but she proved me wrong) and she honestly doesn't even spend much time on it.

She did post this for Mother's Day:

Ha.... she's funny.  I took that pic with her phone while we were in Florida.  Guess I shouldn't hack her phone anymore- it'll come back to haunt me.

Riley starts her summer travel lacrosse team practices tomorrow.  She's super excited and I can't wait to see her play.  She has a tournament here next weekend, then goes away for a weekend with her team for camp, then goes to Asheville for a tourney, then we celebrate her birthday, then we go to the beach and then she has one last tournament in North Myrtle Beach.... Whew.  Busy summer.  Throw in some cheer clinics and she'll be one busy girl the next 6-7 weeks.

So Jack's had an interesting couple of weeks.
He's had tendinitis in his right arm and should 100% not been playing the last couple weeks of the season... but you know how that goes.  He didn't want to come out.  Poor kid... During the county playoffs he told coach he couldn't go in during the semi-final game.  But the kid at 2nd base came out after injuring his leg.  Guess who went in?   Jack.

Of course all game no balls were hit to 2nd until Jack went in.  He fielded two balls during the 6th inning and I could tell he was in pain.  HE SHOULD HAVE COME OUT THEN.....  but he didn't.  7th inning (we are up 9-7 by the way - against a rock solid team) he's back at 2nd base.  He lunges for a ball, fields it, and twists his body towards first to throw the ball and the ball rainbows to the ground and he falls to the ground.   Ouch.

The tendon tore the bone in his elbow away from the actual elbow.   To reduce the chance of this happening again we decided to have it surgically repaired.   So last Friday he had a screw placed in his elbow.  He's in a soft cast for 10 days and then goes into a removable splint.  He can't throw again until mid July so he's out of baseball for the summer.  The coaches still want him to come to practice and be with the team during games but he's still bummed.   2nd summer in a row he's injured.  Boo.  Hopefully the last.

I put together come clips from Jack coming out of surgery all loopy- so funny.

And Hadley- she is a mess.  Headed to kindergarten soon but had a massive meltdown two nights ago b/c I wouldn't let her have a piece of candy as she went to bed...  hot mess I tell ya.   She graduates preschool this Friday - cannot believe it.  She is super ready for preschool to be over and so am I.  No tears shed for sure.  She is looking forward to a dance camp this summer, a couple of preschool camps and maybe come cheer clinics of her own for fun!

Here she is housing some freshly cooked spaghetti squash.  She wanted her Dad to see her eat it so we had to video tape it.

Cheeseball smile right after a massive storm dumped mulch and dirt into our pool from the side yard.  UGH.  Almost a week later and the pool still isn't 100% clear- it's almost there but needs another day or two.

She asked me to get a curling iron to curl her hair.  My pretty girl.

Fun in the water- this was a few days after the storm so you can see the water isn't the right color!

We went over to see 'our other daughter' Reilee after she got ready for prom.  So pretty!

She thinks she's so funny telling us knock knock jokes.  :))-

Haircut yesterday!  She wanted it short and I'm good with that.  Easier to brush!

Face painting at a Lung Cancer walk for a our good friend Angie.

Dead asleep.  Busy girl.

Until next time....
