Vacation

Last week we traveled down to the Keys (Islamorada) for a MUCH needed getaway.  Todd's been working like crazy and this kitchen redo has been non stop so it was so fun for us to get away.

Islamorada is a quaint town (or Key????) right in the middle of the Keys.  We flew into Key West and drove up the coast (literally the entire 1 1/2 hour drive you can see the ocean on both sides of the road- it's gorgeous).

We stayed at the Cheeca Lodge- it's a 'famous' hotel/resort right on the water.  Unfortunately Hurricane Irma shut it down for six months and it reopened two days prior to us arriving.  They were not ready to reopen but we were had plenty of room and enjoyed our stay (with the exception of a waitress spilling red wine all over Hadley!).... The first 24 hours were annoying- trying to figure out what room we were going to be in but we survived and we ended up not paying for the hotel at all!  Sweet deal I must say.

We spent much of our time outside fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, water bicycling, swimming, reading books, digging for shells, etc....  The food was great and and we almost felt like locals after eating breakfast at the Green Turtle three days in a row.

Here's a ton of pics and a long video of Jack catching a cobia.

Until next time....
