Seven Months

I am not sure how it's already been seven months since Hadley came into our lives.
I must sound like a broken record - but time really is flying by.
It makes me sad at times.
My sweet boo boo is growing up - and fast.

So so so much to write about.   I thought I would first show some pics of Jack and Riley at 7 months.

See Riley flapping her arms out?  Hadley does that ALL the time.  It's the cutest thing.
Hadley also has tons of hair like Riley did.
And the cheeks are similar- but those eyes?  Ri's eyes are such a deep beautiful brown - so opposite from Hadley.

This is what I wrote when Ri was just shy of 7 months old:

For Riley- she's sitting all on her own now and eating these little fruity puff things that dissolve in her mouth. She still has zero interest in baby food, but will suck down quite a few bottles a day. Her 16lb body is surely not lacking in calories, but we'll have to take her to a food specialist in a few weeks if she still isn't eating baby food. That should be interesting. Her napping is still sporadic, but in her crib none the less. She naps about 3-4 times a day for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Although she napped for 1 1/2 hours for Todd yesterday while I was at the doctor. Go figure. She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth so I suspect she might pop out a tooth soon. I love every minute I get to spend with her, she is such a joy and doing her little hair makes me so happy. She is truly a blessing. If only she could give me a good afternoon nap.

And for Jack?  The top picture?  The face he's making?  That's totally Hadley.  She makes that face a lot.
And the bottom picture?  Hadley smiles like that (with her entire face) all the time too.
I feel like Jack and Hadley are more similar but who knows.

I didn't blog until Jack was 3 years and 2 months but I keep a written journal.
It seems Jack had just learned to roll over at about 6 1/2 months.   Wayyy behind where Hadley is.  He was also getting his first tooth right at 7 months- just like his baby sister.

So - on to Hadley.

~~~~~
My sweet, sweet little girl.
You are seven months old.  How can that be?  You make me smile every day, many times a day.
You are happy 95% of the time.  And if you're not happy it just means your hungry or tired.  Two super easy things to fix.
You have many nick names.
Your brother and sister call you Mae Mae most of the time or Boom.
Me?  I have many nicknames for you.
Lately you're my little Mackie - or Mack Mack.
No clue how that came to be but I used to call you Boom Boom- and that turned into Boo Boo (I still call you that).  Then it turned into Boo Mackie - you see the pattern there.
I also like to call you Haddie Mae or just Had for short.
This month has been particularly huge for you. There are many, many milestones you've hit.
Let's see.
You....
Sit unassisted.  (I still put a pillow behind you just in case you slam yourself backwards).
Have TWO teeth right under the gums.   They haven't poked through yet - but will any day.
Eat like a champ.   Like breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Eat oatmeal and a fruit for breakfast, veggies/fruit for lunch and for dinner.
Love to sit in your high chair, chewing on puffs or Ella's Kitchen cookies.
Tried pancakes a couple of days ago and gagged a tiny bit - nothing major.
Drink water from a sippy cup a few times a day - spitting half of it back out.
Tried baby food with meat in it and hated it.
Plum Organics Apple and Broccoli is your favorite food.
Roll, scoot, twist, turn your way all over the place.   There is nothing you can't get - if it's on the floor.
Are THIS CLOSE to crawling.
Get on all fours, rock back and forth, put one hand forward and will scoot your legs up.
But then you fall to the floor.
Love toys that make music or noise.
Are very curious about books and love listening to us read to you.
Chew everything and spit up a decent amount (some days more than others).
Make a lot of noise in your saucer- jumping up and down and waving your arms up in the air.
Enjoy going for walks.
Prefer your new fancy umbrella stroller.
Sit in a high chair in restaurants now.
Smile at everyone.
Reach for me and look for me when I'm not right next to you.
Got your new big girl carseat in the mail this week!   Big stuff.
Recently sat in the front part of a shopping cart- big girl!
Smile big and wide when your sister, brother and Daddy walk in the room.
They love you to pieces and I am so thankful for that.
Take 2-3 naps a day.
Take your morning nap in your crib - anywhere from 45 min - 2 hours.
Nap in your swing every afternoon.   I'm in no hurry to change that - after our travels for the holidays are over we'll ditch the swing.
Will take a late afternoon cat nap (30-45 min) in your swing if we have stuff at night.
Go to bed between 6:00-7:00 ish but can stay up later if need be.
Still wake up and chat every night around 1 or 2 a.m.   I don't need to feed you every night anymore but have done so on occasion - just to get you to go back to sleep so I can sleep.
Wake up very, very happy all the time.
Sleep with a couple of 'lovies.'
I had lunch a few days ago with one my favorite women of all time- my friend Meagan's mom Anne.  She asked me what it was like having another child after all this time.
I found myself getting a tad emotional because I just feel so lucky.  God could have had other plans for our family but he blessed us with such a happy, sweet, fun loving little girl.
I am so lucky.
We, our little family, is so lucky.
I just hope Hadley grows up realizing how lucky we are to have her in our lives.
