Coaches

To me, coaches are like teachers.
The good ones teach you the ropes.
The ups and downs.
The ins and outs.

They teach you how to read.
How to add thirteen plus twenty-nine.
How to make a lay-up.
How to slide into second base.
How to chip it in.
How to identify a noun.
How to write dialogue.
How to steal a base.
How to defend the ball.

And if you're lucky, you get a good one.
A good teacher.
A good coach.
It doesn't matter- they're one in the same.

One who motivates.
Who listens.
Who understands.
Who challenges you.
Who pushes you to do your best.
To succeed.
To overcome obstacles.
To be the best you can.

Lucky for Jack, he has his Dad- the best in the business.

Until next time...
