Snowy Day

Finally. It snowed on Friday night. It snowed and snowed and snowed. To the tune of about 4-5 inches in our yard. It was quite a sight for us southerners. We took a walk Friday evening after dinner and the snow was falling hard. The kids ran around and Kody loved it too.

We woke up Saturday morning to lots of beautiful snow on the ground. Unfortunately it melted quick and by midday we were no longer sledding down driveways and sliding on the icy streets but it was fun while it lasted.

Kody loves the snow. He buries his nose in it and then shakes his body like crazy!

Ri was all over it. Since we don't own any snow gear she put on two pairs of socks, Jack's old sneaks, two pair of pajama bottoms, a shirt, hoodie, jacket, hat and gloves. Whew.

Our house:

The kids ran around the yard and made great footprints in the snow.

And of course a little snow didn't stop Jack from shooting hoops. (fuzzy pic- but i thought it was neat)

Todd bought a couple of shovels on Friday at Lowes. He made a great snow fort.

Jack helped w/ the shoveling until ...

...he decided to try out sledding down our little hill on an old Lego box.
Didn't quite work as well as two weeks ago when the snow was really icy.

Ri didn't want any part of sliding down the hill, instead, she watched from the sidelines.

And Daddy shoveled some more.

The neighbors walked over for a bit.

And then we walked over to their house and borrowed their driveway and innertube for some fun.

Jack LOVED it.

Ri would have no part in sliding down the entire driveway- only on her little fish at the very end of the driveway.

We took about an hour break to dry off and warm up and then headed right back out. This time our other neighbors were out so we headed over there and used their driveway and their sled to have some fun.

Of course Ri didn't want anything to do w/ sledding - but her and Addy busied themselves w/ the hilly yard and tossing snowballs to each other and making snow angels.

See that ice melting? It was pure ice on that street when we woke.

Jack popped his head in this tree and then I made him do it again to 'take a pic.' He hates when I make him pose.

Wonder if we'll get any more this year?

Until next time...
