A new toy for the boys

and maybe for the girls. 

For a couple of years Todd has wanted the game corn hole.  Twice he has printed directions off the internet to make his own.  Twice.  But- he has yet to do it.  So- last weekend he decided to just buy it.  And of course he picked Michigan colors.  Yahoo!  I think garnet and black would have looked better – but who am I to say. 

Fed Ex dropped it off yesterday.

 

Funny story about the Fed Ex dude.

About 5:00 ish we checked the tracking on Fed Ex and noticed it was on the truck to be delivered today.  I said to Todd: “I wish the Fed Ex guy would hurry up and get here so we can get a game of corn hole in before it gets dark.”  And before I walked outside to check the mail I said “We need to keep Kody in the house so he doesn’t scare the dude off.”

Kody tends to scare people off.  For some reason our would-not-hurt-an-ant-dog seems a bit scary when he barks.  I had to sign a waiver at the post office for our mail lady to be able to leave packages on the ground by the mailbox since she’s scared of our dog.  I guess it’s because he’ so darn big and scary.  Not.

I don’t know how anyone could be scared of Kody.  He really is such a wimp.

Anyway, as I walked to the end of the driveway I noticed a Penske truck rumbling down our street and knew right away it was Fed Ed.  It’s the time of year where Fed Ex ‘rents’ trucks b/c they are so busy. 

The guy hops out of the car and I tell him that I was just mentioning to my husband that I wished he would hurry and come.

Well- wouldn’t you know that he was already at our house at 11:00 this morning.  Right when both kids and myself were in the shower.   Right when Kody was outside.

So- needless to say, corn hole was not delivered this a.m.  The Fed Ex guy said he tried to coax Kody w/ bones but he would not stop barking at him.  He said that Kody’s hair was standing up and his tail was not wagging!  Oh my.  He also told us he honked the horn a few times.

I felt sooooo bad.

But- it all worked out.  We have our game.  And Ri loves it!
