Little bit of this…. little bit of that.

I guess it’s time for one of those random posts- you know the ones that nothing seems to tie together.  The ones where there’s no really big story to tell.  The ones that seem to flitter from here to there.

This is one of those.

Maybe I’ll bullet this one-  because I feel like it tonight.  Listing is therapeutic for me, sometimes.

  • Ri’s reverted back to going number two in only pull ups.  Well-I guess I can’t say ‘reverted’ since she never really did this to begin w/ but after her severe bout w/ constipation she’s afraid (or won’t for some reason) sit on the potty.  ARGH.   Talk about frustrating.
  • And- she is still not peeing in public places.  Today, after a trip to the nastiest place in town Toys-R-Us to buy some birthday gifts and then a stop at our local Teeter for some groceries she insisted I put a pull up on her when we got in the car.  Now- she was holding herself on and off throughout the store and refused – even I went- to sit on their toilet.  She kept telling me- “I’ll wait til we get home Momma.”  Ummm- yeah right.  She proceeded to stand in the back of the car, relieve herself and then ask me to put her underwear back on.  FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?  Argh.
  • No- this post is not all about Ri’s and her issues- I promise.
  • Jack had his first sleepover outside of the neighborhood last night.  He had a blast.  Jack and his buddy Carson Spring 2009 Bball 04-25-09 169have spent most of this week together since neither one of them have had camps and the last few weeks they have both been out of town for one reason or another.  So after we went swimming w/ them last night Jack headed over to their house.  I hear they watched a movie and passed out around nine or so, which isn’t too bad.  He didn’t come home until lunch time today and he probably would have stayed until tomorrow if I let him.  Jack and Carson get along really well and we’re glad they’re such good buddies.
  • Jack’s been playing w/ his John Deere stuff again.  Talk about random.  It’s been collecting dust in their playroom closet for quite some time.  Today he made some intricate thingie w/ wires, Legos, trucks and things.  He was trying to make the ‘building’ have electricity.
  • Tonight after Jack and I finished tag-team reading The Cat in the Hat he asked me how many years he has to go to school.  You see- he wants to be a builder.  He’s dead set on this.  So I talked to him about going to engineering school or studying architecture and he looked at me and was like “I just want to build things.”  Ok Jack- sorry.
  • Riley has been really into her Legos as well.  It cracks me up b/c she’ll dump her two pink buckets of Legos out and go to town- right next to Jack and she thinks she’s hot stuff too.  That is until she drops the darn thing and it shatters all over the floor.

That’s it for now.

Until next time….
