We've been on Jack hard to stop sucking his thumb. It's about time. He is five. Years old that is.
He really only sucks it when he goes to bed or is lying down watching 'toons or something.
So- last night. He sitting in his chair, watching something, sucking his thumb. Normal.
I say to him: Get your thumb out.
He takes it out.
I say to him: Why do you suck your thumb?
He says to me (after a moment of deep thought): That's how I chill mom.
Serious as a doorknob. That's how I chill mom.
Well- keep on chillin' my son. Just not w/ the thumb. Please.

Too funny. I like that reaction so much better than Evelyns yelling back at me. Thinking the "chill" with the thumb is better than the "chill" with the hand down the pants!
