Seven things....

I'm a blog junkie. I seriously have a problem. If I only read the blogs my friends write it would not be that big of a deal. But (there's always a 'but') there are links to blogs that other people write. Like the one I have on the left of the screen over there.

So I find myself reading blogs about mommies that juggle lots of kids to blogs written by mommies who have sick children. I read blogs that local moms write and blogs that mommies from afar write. I know what you're thinking: get a job, play with your kids some more, go to bed earlier, do something else. I can't help it. It's addictive. I am sure if you're reading this you have also sifted through people's blogs that you've never met, bookmarking them, and returning to check on them later. I am not the only one, right?

One good thing about reading other people's blogs is getting ideas for my own blog. My ABC list was an idea I stole. Another thing I stole from someone else's blog: The seven things list. This guys blog I follow has a periodic list of seven things. Today he wrote one about himself: seven things you don't know about him.

So today, in honor of Jack's upcoming 5th birthday, I thought I'd write my first 'Seven' list about him.

Seven Reasons Why I Love You

1. Your cheeks. While you were in my tummy I dreamed about touching your cheeks. I just wanted to touch them, feel them, smell them. I would close my eyes and picture your cheeks. Lucky for me you were born with sweet chubby little cheeks. I spent countless hours holding you and rubbing your cheeks. I still love those cheeks.

2. Your passion for learning. You have always been a curious little boy. Things intrigue you. You ask lots of questions, often asking more than one question until the answer satisfies you.

3. Your demeanor. You've always been a fairly 'easy' kid. For the most part you listen. I don't have to tell you over and over to do things and you treat your friends like you want to be treated. Of course this isn't always the case, but for the most part it's true.

4. Your imagination. Your imagination runs wild all the time, day after day. From building a Lowes out of building blocks to making a tractor out of Tinker Toys you always seem to find alternative uses for things. You like to build and we've talked about what architects do and how they 'make' things. Maybe one day you'll be an engineer or architect or builder. Any of those would not surprise me.

5. Your kindness. Although you'll be the first to bother yours sister, you are also the first to make sure someone is ok if they're hurt. You'll draw someone a picture to make them feel better or just come cuddle w/ me if I don't feel good.

6. Your hair. Those curls. I adore them. I love them. I hope one day you'll appreciate them. And one day I'll tell you about the hundreds of old ladies that have stopped me in public to tell me what I already know: you're super cute.

7. Last but not least. I love you because your mine. Because your my son, Riley's brother and a Milligan. And you were brought here because we love you.

Until next time....
