So here is Riley eating her first bites of cereal. I remember it taking Jack about a month or so to get used to the spoon and figured Riley is past four months now, so what the heck. Let's give it a go. As you can see the hair was messy. Really messy. The first couple of times I put the spoon in her mouth she looked a bit dazed and confused, not sure what to do. Soon thereafter, she began to lap it up. We've tried it a few times since and she still starts out with a what-am-I-supposed-to-do-with-this look on her face, but then gets her groove on. I can't wait until she starts baby food.

Hey, this is great! Loved reading all about a day in the life of a great Mom!
Having sick kids stinks, but I think it's worse when Mom's are sick, because there's no one there to make us feel better. Avery had croup when she was little...it was Winter and we took her outside for about 3 minutes and the next day it was gone. It sounded dreadful and soooo scarry.
I don't know how Mom's do a full-time job and be a Mom. Many of my friends do it and never have time for anything. In my opinion, it's all about balance. I get to work when I want which usually amounts to 2-3 days a week, get to bring Avery to preschool, help out at her school, go on field trips, and be with Logan. If I wasn't able to have this type of job, I don't know what I'd do.
I do know that I am soooo soooo lucky to have my parents. They help out with the kids, do sleepovers, take the kids everywhere and just do it all. I know what a close relationship I had with my Grandparents and am so fortunate my kids will have that.
As for the potty/poopie thing: I don't think there is anything you can do to get your kid to do it...they have to be ready. One day, it just happens. If you force it, I think it does damage. Avery withheld for days and days and would get infections. Finally, I just stopped. Logan was born and 2 weeks later she just did it on her own and never wore diapers again. And I hear boys are much harder and later than girls. But when it happens, there's nothing better than diaper free!!!
Great chatting...will keep in touch...Kim
