Turning thirteen, football Friday and some lobsters

Someone turned thirteen last week!

It was actually quite uneventful - which was quite nice.  Every single year of Jack's life he's had a party of some sort.  This year was different.   Lots of kids are having boy/girl parties now and Jack attends them - I am just not ready to host one.   Maybe next year.

We woke up Jack early so he could open presents before Riley left for school.
Of course Hadley had to help.  Thank goodness Jack is very patient with her.

Jack got his much awaited bucket hat, money from grandparents, a new wallet, candy, fishing gear, two fishing poles and Oakley sunglasses from Gammy and Poppy.

But in lieu of a big birthday party this year jack gets to go on a fishing trip with his Dad and best friends.  They are headed to Charleston next Friday after school and go on a four-hour fishing excursion early Saturday AM.   He is beyond thrilled to say the least....

No cake for Jack- but rather an iced rice crispy cake.... weird but I am not a cake person either so I get it.

And last Friday was football Friday... Jack wear a tie every Friday during football season so the girls wear his old NY Giants jerseys to school.

Last year we took Jack to Del Frisco's for a special birthday dinner.
This year Todd had live lobster flown in overnight from Maine.  And New England clam chowder.   And he bought two bone-in filets.  Needless to say Friday night we ate like kings.  Thank goodness Daddy likes to cook and rocks at it!

We had such a fun night- just the five of us.

Hadley ate a little lobster for the first time.

Silly Riley.

Jack was the last person at the dinner table... he literally cleaned off everyone's scraps.

We had enough left over to make split-top lobster rolls for lunch the next day.

Until next time...
