The kids are super excited because in a couple of hours their cousin, Ava, is coming to spend the weekend!
Todd and Jeff are headed to Kentucky early Saturday to do a little business and I get the pleasure of hanging with the kiddos.
Let's pray the weekend isn't a total wash-out from the rain so they can play outside.
If it rains TONS we may or may not have to go see The Lorax at the movie theater. It's one of my favorite picture books of all time, one Jack and I used to read a lot when he was younger. I'd love to see how they turned it into a movie.
Jack started baseball this week. We are playing with the same coach as the fall but lots of new players on the team. Challenge starts this weekend as well and of course Jack could NOT be happier.
Riley is supposed to have her first practice tomorrow but I'm pretty sure it's going to be cancelled because of the rain. She's super bummed because that means Ava won't be able to see her play. She thinks she's playing a game...
Ri stayed home from school today. Her eye was puffy and red last night and the PA at the Minute Clinic thought she had the beginnings of pink eye. She's much better today so it was most likely just a bacterial infection of some sort so she's not contagious. Thank goodness. We had some fun girl time- pedicures and lunch with Daddy - all while Jack was in school. Sshh.
Speaking of Jack and school I helped in his class twice this week during writing time and I continue to be shocked at how well Jack writes. His creativity and ability to write a story that makes sense, has a beginning, middle and end and includes crazy cool details baffles me.
So many people in this world believe that being a good writer means you have nice penmanship, can spell and understand Grammar. Jack gets all of those things - but also has that creative gene that boys don't normally have. I am super proud of him and pray he has teachers along the way that encourage him and foster his creativity.
That's it for now.... I need to dust off the camera and take some pics this weekend.
Until next time...
