Right Now

Right Now....

Riley

You just celebrated your 100th day of school.
You had to bring 100 of something in to share with your class.
You brought in 100 pretzels.
The process of counting out 100 pretzels was painful.
I don't think math will be your strong suit.

But- you are reading.
You can read basic board books that have words with simple patterns in them.
You sound out words you don't know- and get them right if they have short vowels in them.
We're working on the long vowel words- just not there yet.

You have a loose tooth.
A justbarelyloosebutlooseenoughtosayyouhavealoosetooth tooth.
I really wouldn't even say it's loose.
It barely wiggles.
You go to the dentist on Tuesday so we'll see what he says.

Speaking of the dentist.
The last three times we've been you and Jack don't need me with you at all.
In fact, I sit in the waiting room while you get your teeth cleaned.
It's kind of funny.
I joke with the ladies in the front office that I'm going to drop you off and pick you guys up in an hour.

You still like to watch Mickey Mouse.
Maybe it's because you have an older brother who watches nothing but sports on TV - but you have no interest in the television.
You don't have a clue what's on the Disney channel except for Mickey- in fact neither do I.
I hope it stays that way for a while.

You're officially closer to being six than five now.
Ughhh...
Stop growing up on me!

Until next time...

I remember doing the 100th day when I was in school! Pretty sure I brought 100 mini marshmallows!
