Pumpkins and cupcakes

I cannot believe that Christmas is just over two months away. I have purchased just three Christmas gifts- just small stuff for the kids. (And one of them Jack saw in the basement closet- guess I need to change my hiding place this year). My goal is to do all of my shopping done between Halloween and Thanksgiving. I have this goal every year but I never, ever meet it.

The fall is flying by. October is half over and I have not taken any pictures of my kids w/ pumpkins.

That will change this weekend, if the weather cooperates.

We were planning on taking a day trip to the mountains tomorrow but 39 degrees with rain/snow does not sound too appealing for either one of us. It's going to be in the upper 50's here in Charlotte so we are going to do something tomorrow that involves pumpkins. Last year I took way too many 'fall pics' and that was with my old camera- so who knows what I'll do this year.

On another note-

It was raining and gross yesterday. We were supposed to have Jack's end-of-season T-Ball party at the park but moved it to next week b/c of the weather. So- that left us w/ no plans. I wasn't in the mood to have an entire afternoon and evening inside so we decided to head here. We picked up our friends who are about to move to CT :-( and off we went.

I didn't tell the kids where we were going- just said it was a surprise. I thought my children would be super excited to go to a store that sells cupcakes. But- my freshly-filled-with-a-brand-new-bad-attitude-six-year-old son was quite ungrateful. He didn't like his cupcake (too much chocolate). What kid says their cupcake has too much chocolate? (Mine-since I am not a big chocolate girl).

And since he didn't like his cupcake he thought he was entitled to his fill of candy (that is mysteriously placed at eye level for kids). Of course I would not oblige his demands for Fun Dip and he got VERY upset.

Needless to say- we were outta there.

Guess that's what I get for trying to be nice. Next time we'll stay home.

Unti next time...
