A new beginning

A new chapter in our lives is starting soon: public school.

One week from today we find out who Jack's kindergarten teacher will be.

In two weeks Jack will start kindergarten.

In four weeks Riley will start preschool- the three year old class.

Oh. My. Goodness. Where or where has the time gone?

It's hard for me to comprehend Jack starting 'real' school. I vividly remember Jack's first day of preschool, almost four years ago. He was wearing khaki shorts and a blue shirt (that snapped at the bottom- you know the kind that stay tucked in). He had his Dee with him and was really excited. I took lots of pictures and I wish I had them on this computer 'cause they were really cute. And- I didn't blog back then- bummer.

He had Mrs. Simmons (loved loved her) and only went Monday and Wednesdays. When he started he was a few weeks shy of turning two. My baby. Now he's almost six. Wow. I remember picking him up at 1:00 those two days a week and praying he'd stay awake in the car on the ride home b/c he was a good napper- two hours a day. Those two days a week were a piece of cake, that's for sure.

I'd pick him up and ask him: "What did you do today?"
I swear every single day he would answer: "I play cars and trucks." He said that the entire school year.

And for Ri- this is her 3rd year of preschool. She loves it so much. We have been blessed with two amazing teachers who have loved my little Riley for all she's worth: the good and the bad.

She's going three days a week this year and is starting gymnastics and dance soon too.

It's gonna be a busy fall.

Until next time....
