Day one of our vacation was basically a travel day. It took us a total of 13 hours door to door but we had fun in the process. Plus- a whole lotta firsts for RiRi.
Here’s the story in pictures:
Our flight was at 9:5 so we arrived at the airport in time to get a bite to eat and then hit up Starbucks. Yes- that is Jack drinking Starbucks. Our kids love an ice cold Chai (my fave too). This was Ri’s very first time on an airplane (and a shuttle bus too).
Once we boarded the plane the kids got busy w/ their goodies that I packed to keep them out of trouble occupied. Jack w/ his iPod:
and Ri w/ her coloring and lip stuff.
Once we got off the airplane and rented a car we had lunch in downtown Providence and then headed towards Woods Hole, Massachusetts- the town where we catch the ferry over to MVY.
The kids caught some zzzz’s on the drive over.
We had some time to kill once we got to Woods Hole so we walked around and looked at the boats…
and watched these boys use a dock as a bike ramp…
and finally ended up here for dinner.
The view from our table was amazing but the food wasn’t that great (our only bad meal of the week).
After dinner we headed over to the ferry for the 45 minute ride over to MVY.
Jack and Ri LOVED the ferry and were giddy with excitement to see everyone.
We made it over to the island just in time for sunset.
More to come…
Until next time…
