A Birthday to Remember

Hummm. Where do we start?

Let's back up to Friday night, at the beginning of Ri's 3rd birthday weekend.

Y'all know about her sleep issues. For some strange reason they decided to rear their ugly head (the sleep issues) all night long Friday night. I spent the entire night sleeping on her trundle, which I hadn't done in months, because she kept waking up.

I kept telling myself: Please. Please Ri- get some sleep because if you don't get enough sleep you will be a nightmare tomorrow at your party.

Need I say more?

Her friends began to arrive about 10:30 and went straight to the bounce house in the back yard that we rented. The kids all had a great time, except for RiRi. I basically held her for most of her party. There were bursts here and there of enjoyment: a few times in the bounce house, the sandbox, bubbles, cupcakes. But- over all- she was pretty miserable. And that means that I was miserable too. I had great intentions of photographing all her friends and making this great slide show, like I did for Jack's last party, but since she was on my hip for most of the time that plan failed. So- if you want to see the few pics I did take, head over here.

Come to find out she's also quite a bit stopped up, if you know what I mean. So she's been complaining of a tummy ache on and off for days. Finally, tonight, she had some relief, but I don't think that's enough.
Sooo- it was a weekend to remember, to say the least. Riley did rally last night so we could hang out for a pool party/cookout with our neighbors, but she hasn't been herself all weekend.
Let's hope she's better tomorrow because tomorrow at 3:39 p.m. she will offically be three.
Oh boy- my baby is growing up.
We head to the beach bright and early tomorrow because Jack is playing in his VERY first golf tournament tomorrow at 1:00. So- lots to photograph and blog about this coming week.
Until next time...
