Jack played in his very first golf tournament today at Poppy and Gammy's golf course. Jack's real familiar with this course b/c he's been to the range countless times to hit balls. He knows the pros and they love him to pieces so it seemed only natural for him to play in their annual Junior Golf Club Championship( i think that's what it was called) even though he was the youngest by about two years, give or take.
There were seven kids in his age group, nine and under. I will have to tell you that our little Jack held his own.
Poppy drove the cart and Jack walked (from tee-green, not between holes) and weathered the staggering heat. My goodness it was hot. Gammy, RiRi and I joined up at the end of the 2nd hole (they played five shortened holes). The two boys that were in his group were a few years older and could easily outdrive Jack but our Jack outdrove those boys on the 4th hole. It was crazy. He made it to the green on his first shot on a par three.
Needless to say we were super proud of our boy.
The end result: he came in 4th place overall out of 7 kids. Pretty awesome considering he was the youngest kid out there.
Pretty cool.
Here he is all ready to go. (of course I took an obscene amount of pictures- click here to see them all).
And now for RiRi. Poor thing- she's still all stopped up but she ended up having a nice day. She was a trooper following Jack around for his first tournament. We took her swimming for a little bit and she passed out in my lap at the pool while Jack was swimming. Bless her little heart.
Gammy and Poppy made grilled chicken and green beans (her request) and pasta salad for dinner followed by a yummy homemade chocolate cake, filled w/ sprinkles and princess goodies.
She actually ate a decent dinner and enjoyed her dessert before passing out for the night.
Here's pics of Ri's flowers sent to her by her Daddy (an annual tradition he started when she turned one) and Ri and her birthday cake.
