Well- I think it might be about time to start thinking about undies for our little RiRi- or at the very least some pull-ups.
Warning: step by step in the process of a two year old GIRL learning to pee on the potty. A little TMI.
This morning she looked at me w/ a puzzled look and said, "Mommy- I have to pee on the potty." It was cool to actually watch her 'listen to her body' and realize she has to pee.
So we of course BOLT to the bathroom, yank her pants down and rip off her dipe. Before hopping on the seat she always has to grab a wad of toilet paper. This is by far her fave part. I help her sit her teeniny little bottom on the toilet and make sure she places her hands on the seat behind her bottom so she doesn't fall in. (Which I could totally see happening b/c of her tiny stature.)
So- after she situates her little self she looks at Jack - who of course runs into the bathroom w/ us- and says - I kid you not- "Jack- I need me privacy." OMG- I always tell her that Jack needs his privacy when he's in the bathroom. She often tries to bust in on him. So he proceeds to stand immediately outside of the bathroom so he can hear everything.
After all that- she gets this look on her face -an I'm-concentrating-very-hard-don't-look-at-me look. And then she goes. After she does her duty she grins and yells "DADDY! DADDY! I WENT PEE PEE ON THE POTTY!!!!" And then she wipes. And wipes. And wipes. And wipes. I tried to explain to her that girls wipe pee pee from the front. She could care less.
And the funniest part: she doesn't want to flush her toilet paper. She wants to hold on to it. UGH- I finally convince her to flush it. She hops down and does NOT want anything to do w/ her diaper. Ahh my dear- you are not potty trained- you must wear a diaper.
So- my friends. Now you have experienced a play by play of Ri's 'potty training.' I, for one, would not call it potty training b/c I am not doing anything. It's all her telling me when she has to go.
Again- we'll see how long this lasts. I'm sure the novelty of it will wear off soon and she'll be back to normal.
Until next time....
