Here's how they look in our house:
Alright- so I am going to cheat. I started to write a little blurb for each of the TWELVE numbers. It's too hard. You try it. So- I am just going to make my own list, each starting w/ a number.
16- number of consecutive days the kids are out of school. I absolutely can cannot wait to spend that amount of time w/ our kids, uninterrupted. No- seriously though. It will be nice to have two plus weeks out of work and school for us to hang. It's the longest stretch of the year that Todd's off work.
12-bags of cookies. Each year we make homemade cookies for our friends that live in the Charlotte area. It takes a few weeks to make them all and we freeze them until it's time to give them out. On Friday afternoon I pulled all the gallon sized bags of cookies out of our garage freezer and there were 12!! Holy smokes- that's a lot of flour.
9,872- number of lights Todd strung inside and outside of our house yesterday w/ Jack's help. And mine- a little. Jack worked really hard b/c he wanted his Lego Mars Mission toy that we bought at Target for him. He could only play w/ it if he worked hard helping us decorate the house. I just estimated that number, by the way.
10-number of poinsettas I bought at Lowes on Friday. I love to decorate the house w/ them. Big ones, little ones. Pink. Red. You name it, we got it.
7- wreathes Todd hung yesterday. Six on the outside of the house and one real one above the mantle.
2-Christmas Trees. This year we decided to put a fake tree in the space above our foyer. It's a wasted space that is only meant for a Christmas tree. So we ventured out this a.m. after determining a 4 foot fake tree would be sufficient. NOT! The thing looks so tiny up in that big space. We must get a bigger one next year and let the kids have that tree for the playroom or something.
1- gingerbread house. Although it came w/ three thousand candies and one enormous bag of edible glue frosting. The kids had fun. It looks lopsided. Ri ate too much of the candy. Who cares? Right.
Until next time...
