It finally happened

Before Jack was born we bought him a stuffed Golden Retreiver to put on his shelf. It sat up there on his shelf for quite some time. I can't quite remember when it became his 'lovey' but I assume it was somewhere near his first birthday, give or take.

This stuffed animal took on the name "Dee" after our own Golden Retreiver, Kodiak (Kody for short). Jack couldn't say Kodiak, or Kody for that matter, and called him Dee.

Fast forward four years and that dog is still around, the real one and the fake one. When he turned four we made him keep Dee in his room and it worked for quite a few months. But, after time, he slowly began to take him into the playroom and so forth and so on....

On to tonight. He can't find him. He is NOWHERE to be found. OMG- talk about obnoxious. We looked all over the house: playroom, bedroom, bathrooms, under cushions, the car, etc.... can't find him.

Needless to say tears were shed. We went into the closet in the playroom and picked out some other 'friends' for him to throw in his bed for the night. Poor thing. He asked me, "what if I never see Dee again?" I told him we'd look for him again tomorrow.

Here's an old pic of Jack with his Dee from 2 1/1 years ago.

I hope we find him tomorrow.
Until next time...
