I was a little worried when we signed Jack up for golf camp here in DeBordieu. Those who know him well know that he is sometimes a bit gun shy around 'new' things and gets upset easily.
Well- I could not have been more wrong.
He loves it. Loves. It.
Yesterday was his first day and they worked on chipping before the 5 hour thunderstorm began. More on that later. One of the pros who is leading the camp told us he did wonderful and that Jack is "one to watch." I am so thrilled for my little boy.
Today they hit the range and practiced putting and he had another wonderful day. It's weird to see him from afar on the range w/ kids that are twice his age and older. There are a few younger ones but Jack is the smallest and youngest by far. He probably tags along w/ the big kids, thinking he's cool, but that's ok. We're proud of him.
He has one more day tomorrow and then we head home.
Back to that thunderstorm from yesterday. It was a torrential downpour for over 5 hours.
Thunder-lightning-rain....over and over and over and over. It would not stop. We spent the afternoon inside playing games, reading, watching movies and then ventured out to visit some neighbors from Charlotte who are down this week.
The paper says over six inches of rain fill here yesterday. Ponds were overflowing, yards are filled w/ standing water, limbs were knocked down. It was pretty bad.
Well- Riley cried herself to sleep this afternoon for her first real nap since Friday. I hope this isn't the norm when we return tomorrow. We shall see.
Until next time...
