So we're on day four of "bottle weaning" and it's going great. She hasn't had a bottle all week before 1:00 and then she has another one right before bed (we did cheat today, but it's ok!). She seems to be ok w/ it. I can definitely tell there are times when she'd love to have a bottle, but I just shove a sippy cup w/ milk in her face and she drinks some. I'm pretty proud of my bottle-loving-child.
RiRi- one of her many nicknames- has changed sooo much the last few weeks. When we were at the beach the last week of May she was on the verge of turning 11 months and not yet crawling. I think my mother-in-law was a bit worried, but right after we returned she started crawling. She sometimes drags her left leg around and pushes off w/ her right leg, but more and more she's crawling the "normal" way, if there is a normal way.
A few weeks ago she could only pull up (and not get herself down) while gripping onto something. She just pops herself up now, barely leaning onto us, a cabinet, toys, etc... She also can get herself down- it's amazing how fast she's catching on. I guess since she waited so late to do all these things she decided she better bust them out all at once.
She loves the water. We swam two afternoons this week and she actually tries to put her face in the water. It's too funny. She is going to be the fish in the family. Jack likes the water too, but on his own terms. She's got a kickin' tan and lots of cute bathing suits to show off her cute figure (baby belly and all).
She's also growing like a weed too. She's just under 20 lbs, but she's gotten taller too. I can tell because some of her summer clothes are too small. I've had to put away the 6-12 month stuff and get out the next size. It' soooo hard to put that cute stuff away, but it's one step closer to wearing dresses. I am embarrassed to say that between an awesome consignment sale and sick sales at Gymboree she already has 20 dresses for next summer. Please don't pass that tidbit on to my husband. I know he already thinks I'm a bit crazy, but I cannot help myself.
Off to finish my 2nd book of the summer. Gotta love no T.V.
Until next time...
