Mommy on strike

Being a stay-at-home mom has its benefits. I get to spend lots of quality time w/ my kids, we get to go to the beach when we want to, no getting up early to head to daycare, etc, etc, etc.

But- the one thing that full time mommies don't get to do is:

CALL IN SICK.

Yes, I wanted to call in sick today. But who was I going to call? Todd was on a plane to Houston, so he wasn't around and my mom had just been here this past weekend. Today was one of those rare days I wish I could have dropped my kids off at daycare and come home and crawl back in bed. By now my nose looks like Rudolph and I have taken enough cold medicine to last weeks, but I still did my duties today.

To make matters worse, Jack has had an on/off fever since yesterday so he didn't go to school today. Double whammy: mommy and son sick. Thank God Riley is all better. I was determined to get them to nap at the same time. I got about 45 minutes of nap time, but it got me through the day.

So here we are with Riley already in bed and Jack eating dinner (with 11 cars piled around his plate). I am counting the minutes until Jack goes to sleep so I can crash.

Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Until next time...
