Weekend Outdoors

We basically spent the weekend outdoors. It was incredibly gorgeous- hovering near 80 Friday and Saturday. Today was a bit chillier but still nice enough to be outside most of the day.

Both kids had practice Friday night- thank God that's a rare occurrence. Our Friday's were taken up for three months with basketball practice and it's not fun only having one night of the weekend 'free.'

Saturday morning found us at the ballpark bright and early for Jack's first Challenge 'Tournament.' It wasn't quite a tournament because we only played the other 7U team in our league but the boys had just as much fun. We played two games and won both. Jack played great- playing several innings at 2nd. One inning he made all three outs- two of them on his own. He's been working hard and it's great to finally see the fruits of his labor.

His coaches this season (for both of his teams) are awesome. Jack is going to learn a lot and we are thrilled he gets to play for them- this guy below is his Challenge Coach. He's a riot- funny as hell, knows A LOT about baseball and loves Jack. We are hoping to play for him next year too!

He played a few innings at pitcher too. They wear this mask thing to protect their face. I'm totally cool with his. These boys can hit. Jack's team only had ONE strike out the whole day- what a difference from last season.

Ri had practice again Saturday. Not sure how much longer she'll be playing baseball. I guess she likes it but I can tell it really isn't her thing. She doesn't complain about going but her attention span once she gets there is not quite as long as it needs to be.

Today was another day outside- at home. We hung out, played ball, played with friends, went grocery shopping, grilled dinner and now we're going to watch basketball and crash!

(Check out the holes in Jack's shirt. Those are from Swisher! He put a couple of puncture wounds on Jack today!)

Until next time...
