Play Ball

Today was the day. The start of Fall Ball.

Lucky for us there is a shortened baseball season in the fall. A lot of the kids around here play football in the fall so there aren't as many teams and the talent is depleted but it's just more time Jack can be doing the thing he loves most.

And- they have all girls t-ball/softball and Riley had her very first game today. These are the times when I'm thankful that I am justalittlebitobsessive about taking pictures. I have so many of Ri's first game today. Here are a few:

Coach Adam warmed them up before the game started.

Ri is finally getting the hang of how to throw the ball the correct way.

Her catching? That's another story.

Those cute little girls sat on the bench and waited their turn to bat so quietly. It was the sweetest thing.

Jack played catcher for Ri's team. He relished in being the 'big kid,' that's for sure.

Scoop getting ready for her first at bat.

Cruising down the baseline towards 2nd.

Rounding third for home.

She played right center during the 1st inning. Jack walked her to her spot to make sure she knew where to go.

I love the grin on her face in this picture.

Big brother keeping a watchful eye.

Batter up.

See her eyes? Closed. She actually hit a ball that the coach pitched. (They pitch it to them 3 times and then bring out the tee.)

Her big old helmet bobbled on her head and she ran to first.

Making it home.

The coach actually played her at 2nd base. Shocker.

About 2 hours after Ri's first game ended, Jack's first game started. Here's him during his first t-ball season, just for old times sake.

Here he is now, much older and wiser.

He played short stop most of the game and did great. I was super proud of how he did.

No real action shots b/c I was video taping some of the game for Todd.

Looking forward to another game Monday.

Until next time...

Awesome photos...especially the one of Ri running where it is blurry around her.....no easy feat to take, I know from experience. Congrats on that :) We'll have to get together soon. J
