Makes me want to stop and smell the roses some more.
The Christmas decorations are up. The lights are all lit (with a little huffing and puffing from Todd). The house looks great. Makes me get into the Christmas spirit. And believe it or not almost all of my Christmas shopping is done and most of it is wrapped. GASP!!! The only reason the presents are mostly wrapped is because I am sending them home w/ Steve and Gretchen this weekend.

Speaking of this weekend, Todd and I are gearing up for a quick trip to New York City to hang w/ friends. I plan on seeing the tree at Rockefeller Center and hitting up the American Girl store and maybe heading over here for a quick peek. Todd said he would not, under any circumstances, hang out there. But maybe we can walk by for a quick peek. Why not, right?
One of my oldest and dearest friends and her husband will be in NYC this weekend too. Funny how they only live 1 1/2 hours from us and we never see them. We have to travel several states north to see them. And we plan on hanging w/ several of Todd's buddies and their wives throughout the weekend as well. I am hoping to bust out the camera and take some cool pics of the City.

Just a quick aside: Jack and I just finished reading and he's sitting w/ Todd in his chair all snuggled up. They are watching ESPN, Sports Center, at Jack's request. Jack just said: "Daddy, can we watch 60 Minutes tomorrow night?" HUH? Random Jack- This is the same kid who requested to watch college football this afternoon. Sorry bud- no football on Monday afternoon's.
Like father, like son. Seriously.

Funny story. Jack's good buddy was over this afternoon along with his mom, sister and almost brand new baby sister. The adults were hanging out downstairs w/ the baby, just chatting and catching up.
Next thing you know Jack and his buddy come running downstairs, hysterically laughing. Jack was holding a red piece of construction paper that I noticed had some writing and a picture on it.
Jack's buddy was yelling: NO! NO Jack! Don't read it!!!!!!
Jack reads it to us. Seems his buddy has a girlfriend and there was a picture drawn of his buddy and his new girlfriend kissing. Oh my!!!!!!
They continued to run around the downstairs and laugh hysterically.
Fast forward to tonight. I was telling Todd about the boy's antics. Todd says to Jack: "Jack. What did we talk about last night? Remember: GUY CODE! You never rat a buddy out." And he said a few more things I can't remember word for word but it was too funny. I guess in order to follow GUY CODE you have to start learning about it at a young age. I hope this guy code also includes things like:
-always opening the door for women
-learning how to cook a few staples to impress a woman
-learning how to write a love letter (ok- this one is a stretch)
You get my drift?

Ri has parent observation week in gymnastics tomorrow so I am hoping to get some good pics, unlike here.
Until next time...

Too cute! I am SO jealous of your trip to NYC. I LOVE NYC! Especially around this time of year. You are going to have SO MUCH FUN!
How is it that you have time to take care of 2 kids most of the day alone, keep an impecable home, premake all your Christmas cookies, blog, read blogs, photograph, edit photographs, DVR and watch your favorite shows, work out, get to bed early, be a room mom, get all your shopping and wrapping done early, meet friends most weeks for lunch, tavel or entertain most weekends, finish home projects and and hit the town with friends so regularly? I am obviously extremely inefficient and need help! In our lives something ALWAYS gives, and it is usually the laundry OR all my free time!
