"Cucumber"

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a fabulous New Years. We celebrated at a sweat pants party with 4 other couples. It was lots of fun with good food and even better martinis and we all spent the night, so no driving involved.

Jack started the new year w/ a bang yesterday with a trip to the Dr.'s office. He has an ear infection and his normal chest cold. He's on an antibiotic and breathing treatments until we go back next week. Nothing new for us- he's used to that nebulizer machine. He's 100% better today and will probably go to school tomorrow since the Dr. said nothing is contagious, especially after he gets some antibiotic in him. Plus- he's ready to go back!

Riley has finally decided to start chatting some more. She said her first two word mini - sentence this morning. She said, "Bye bye Paa Paa." It was so cute. This afternoon I made her some cucumber slices and said "cucumber" to her. She promptly said it back to me. It was really cucumber and not a shortened version of it. I made her say it again and she did and then we jumped up and down and she raised her hands high in the air, so proud of herself.

I tried to get Riley to say it on video but of course that wouldn't happen. Here's a clip of me trying to get her to say it. Notice what she does in the background.

Yes- that would be Riley pulling Jack's lidless cup off of the table, drinking it, spilling it and getting the chills.

I couldn't resist.
